Kitten & Mouse Earrings made from vintage American silver dimes. You can see the coin on the reverse side. Coins and hooks are solid silver.To make one of these pieces, the face is sanded off on one side of a coin (except for those pieces with the coin image on both sides). Then using traditional hammering and forging techniques, the shape is formed, the designs are implanted, and the piece is domed with a block and punches. Due to the substantial weight of the coins, there is quite a bit of labor involved. The piece is polished by hand and cast, using the lost wax method. The pieces are immersed in a blackening solution and polished. The finished piece of jewelry is cleaned and ready to be worn.Thanks for looking. Enjoy!, mice
